Xalet del Nin

Welcome to Xalet del Nin

Mediterranean Venue

The venue is situated on the Barcelona coast, in a fantastic location right by the Mediterranean Sea. Secluded, but only a few minutes from Vilanova i la Geltrú’s town centre.

1913 Property

Architect Josep Font i Gumà

Its construction was commissioned by the Ferrer Nin family, the son of the then Mayor of Barcelona, who wished for a sizeable, comfortable residence whereby he could raise and look after his large family, all the while getting away from the unhealthy atmosphere developing at the beginning of the 20th Century in Barcelona.

  • 2019 Refurbishment

  • The 2019 refurbishment of the venue has kept both the original architectural style and essence, preserving the main features of a building on the edge of both Catalan Modernism and Noucentisme in design, while adding a notable presence of modern Catalan architectural style. These more cultured aspects are what gives the house its true individuality.

  • Iberian Legacy

  • At the foot of the Sant Gervasi hill, where the Xalet del Nin resides, you will wind the Adarro Ruins, a Roman-Iberian Villa which has provided several important archaeological findings. The remains date back to an Iberian town belonging to the Cosetanos, between the 5th and 1st century BC, and later became a Roman Settlement within the territory of Tarraco.

  • The Xalet and the Wine

  • The refurbishment resulted in a great discovery, a fossilised Vitis grapevine which forced changes to the initial structural plan of the gardens. However, it confirmed that the beach in front of the Sant Gervasi Hill is probably one of the first locations of wine trade.

  • Mediterranean Gardens

  • The concept behind the scenic design of the gardens was always clear. Create an outside space coherent with the local Mediterranean foliage and plantlife, enhancing the intimacy of the various different areas, all the while allowing for views of the Mediterranean Sea from any given point in the gardens.

  • New Rooms

  • The beauty of having copious space is that it has allowed us to integrate a new room to host events or parties, all without losing any of the essence or environment which make the Xalet del Nin what it is.
